No iPhone 3.0 Beta for University Program
March 17, 2009
From the iPhone Developer Site

You must be enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program to access the development resources for iPhone OS 3.0 beta…
I was finally able to log in to try and grab the download (which was made available today) but when I click the iPhone 3.0 link this is what I get.
Looks like I’ll have to pony up $99 to get in on the fun early. It’s a shame they won’t let the University Program in…

I was definitely disappointed when I wasn’t able to access the iPhone 3.0 Software on the University program.
Universities are what Apple should target to get new developers onto the platform. Microsoft does a very good job at integrating its tools into universities.

I was gutted to also find i was not allowed access. I have planned to do a dissertation involving developing a iPhone app. There are some very tasty api’s which would be so useful to me in 3.0 so now am weighing up paying the $99 or waiting until june (ish) to even start.
I agree with paul, Apple should be treating their universities with a bit more respect if they want students to keep using their tools.
